After the surgery, patient will remain bedridden during the first two days for faster recovery. By the way, you’ll not allowed to go to work around but be sure to move your limbs every now and then just to avoid blood clots. You need to sleep upright and on your back to help reduce swelling. You must sleep more than the usual hours of sleep during the recovery period but be sure to have someone to wake you up to ensure taking proper medication, eating, and drinking of foods and liquids. Some doctors will advise you to apply cold compress to the breast for about 48 hours following the breast augmentation surgery because it can reduce swelling and help the overall healing process. While other cosmetic surgeons place thin tubes in patient’s breast enlargement incisions to help drain the fluids and these should be place right after the procedure. Your surgeon will give you instructions on how to drain and clean your wounds. These tube will more likely to be removed at patient’s first follow-up appointment. Swelling and irritation may have resulted from the draining tubes. If you have fever or high temperature during your recovery period be sure to inform your doctor because it might be a sign of infection. So a close monitoring is necessary.
